Classic North Korean Negotiating Tactics

A classic example of North Korean negotiating tactics; this one never grows old:

North Korea questioned Saturday U.S. willingness to settle an ongoing nuclear dispute after criticisms by Washington included in a report on global democracy.

North Korea’s official news agency said the country’s Foreign Ministry blasted a recent State Department report that called North Korea a “militarized society” and “dictatorship.”

In effect, accuse your opponent of what you are guilty of. Of course North Korea has been reneging on nuclear-related deals for as long as they’ve been agreeing to them, and they are in fact a – if not the most in the world – “militarized society” and a “dictatorship”! In the past several months Chris Hill has bent over backwards to accommodate some sort of deal with North Korea, to the point of appeasement.
