Kim Yong-nam to Visit Uganda

Filed under: Economics.North Korea’s number two leader is expected to sign trade and defence deals with Uganda where he is due to make a rare visit this month, Uganda’s international affairs minister said on Sunday. Kim Yong-nam, the president of the presidium of North Korea’s Supreme People’s Assembly, is expected to start a three-day visit to the east African nation on March 27.

Oryem said Uganda would start exporting goods such as mushrooms and silk to the Asian country, which has sent officials to help train Ugandan police and presidential security staff. North Korea is one of Uganda’s main suppliers of military hardware, and that cooperation would be enhanced, he added.
I visited Uganda in 2005, but did not have time to look for the North Korean embassy. A view representative of Kampala’s suburbs:
