The Newest Richardson
by Richardson ~ July 16th, 2007. Filed under: Awesome.Update: Thanks to everyone who left us a message here or via email, it is greatly appreciated. The little guy is doing as well as could be expected and is getting used to life on the outside. As he transitioned from colostrum to milk today, which seems to be helping him sleep much better. That in turn could help alleviate our last two days with only a few hours of sleep each for the parents, as well as allow a return to the fitness regime and blogging, though I expect both to be on maintenance status for at least a couple more weeks.

Original post: Looks like light blogging ahead – our son arrived today, a couple of weeks earlier than expected but welcome nonetheless! Mom and son are fine, and we’re all tired. Now that I’ve sent a few pics to family and showered, it’s back to the hospital!

P.S. I’d appreciate it if no identifying information is used in comments, thank you!

Everyone;
Thank you very much for your good wishes, it is greatly appreciated. In answer to a few questions;
Will ‘blogging’ still be around by the time he’s old enough?
Not too bad, really. He was brought in from the nursery a few times to nurse, and we kept him in the room from about 0530 on. He slept for 2-4 hour stretches that first day/night.
Full bore, for now. Continuing from above, the next day he was circumcised and that night was passed (by him) in sleep of about hour-long stretches with the rest of the time pent in various combinations of nursing, crying, pooping, crying, peeing, and of course crying.
He sometimes cries both before and after pooping, but everything could be complicated by the circumcision, which is so far healing well.
Today his diet went colostrum to milk which appears help him get some much better sleep, which means we might as well.
