CFR’s “The Candidates on North Korea Policy”
by Richardson ~ June 13th, 2007. Filed under: Election 2008.A representative from the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) sent a link to their new presidential campaign issue tracker that, “outlines the stances of each 2008 presidential candidate on North Korea.” You can find it at: The Candidates on North Korea Policy
Perhaps because it’s only June of 2007, I haven’t been paying too much attention to the candidates outside the headlines, and so was surprised to see how many there are:
Republicans: Brownback, Cox, Gilmore, Giuliani, Huckabee, Hunter, McCain, Paul, Romney, Tancredo, and Tommy Thompson.
Democrats: Biden, Clinton, Dodd, Edwards, Gravel, Kucinich, Obama, and Bill Richardson
Thought not on the CFR list, yet, Fred Thompson is listed by American Enterprise Institute as a Visiting Fellow studying national security and intelligence (China, North Korea, and Russia). To date I’ve not seen any substantial comments on North Korea by Fred Thompson.
As the election gets closer each of the major candidates will receive much more in-depth coverage of their positions on North Korea here at DPRK Studies.
