British Intelligence: Terrorists Used Google Maps for Attacks

From the Telegraph: “Terrorists attacking British bases in Basra are using aerial footage displayed by the Google Earth internet tool to pinpoint their attacks, say Army intelligence sources. . . The satellite photographs show in detail the buildings inside the bases and vulnerable areas such as tented accommodation, lavatory blocks and where lightly armoured Land Rovers are parked.”

    I knew this would happen sooner or later. It’s only a matter of time before all you will see on US bases are a big chunk of background color.

    Nope…in this day and age, you have to wait until something bad happens, otherwise certain political affiliations fry your ass.

    Prior to 9/11, sure. Afterward it’s been pretty clear that it was just a matter of time before that info would be used to go after DoD assets. So far, as far as we know, it’s just not been *our* DoD. Yet.
