Another ‘Will They Test?’ Post
by Richardson ~ January 5th, 2007. Filed under: Uncategorized.As the Nomad and Joshua point out, there seems to be some conflicting information on whether or not North Korea is getting ready for a second nuclear test or not.
Apparently a, “U.S. television network” (ABC) quoted an unnamed (aren’t they usually) U.S. official as saying, “We think they’ve put everything in place to conduct a test without any notice or warning,” while at the same time some activity in the area has been observed. Of course the Korean press ran with it as well.
However, both U.S. and South Korean officials have since stated that there is not sign of an “imminent” nuclear test.
So, what does it mean? No one knows for sure. Any activity at known nuclear or missile facilities is bound to grab media attention, and North Korea could just be stirring the pot. If they do conduct a second test, at least we won’t have to see Pelosi on the news as much, at least for a week or so.
