‘Korean Scientists Create Magical Substance’

The title of the Korea Times article made me chuckle, but if not a Dr.-Hwang-like hoax, there are some potential energy security implications for this:

A team of Korean scientists has created a new substance that can convert inexpensive intermediate crude oil to valuable gasoline in a very efficient fashion.

Venezuela – and those who might want to buy oil from them – might take special note of such a product since Venezuelan oil is a “heavy,” relatively expensive to refine type. China is of course the major potential customer for Venezuelan oil. However, unlike the current major consumer of Venezuela’s oil, the U.S., China lacks the specialized refining capacity required for the low-quality crude, something that the Korean invention may help alleviate.

    yup.

    sure buddy.

    uh huh.

i believe you. i really do.

sorry….but any claims of scientific feats by koreans that have never been accomplished before need to be verified by many independent sources, thanks to Dr. Hwang.
