Update: CNN: U.S. official: North Korea tests long-range missile

North Korea launched a long-range Taepodong-2 missile early Wednesday in an apparently unsuccessful test that failed in flight, a senior State Department official said.

North Korea also tested at least two smaller missiles, U.S. sources told CNN.

Both missiles were launched from a site other than the one intelligence officials have watched for weeks ahead of the long-range missile test, a senior State Department official said.

As I’m watching the Derek Trucks Band while the shuttle does it thing and unfortunately the great leader’s handiwork is on display, I can’t quite, not yet, take my ears away from Derek Truck’s awesome sound. KJI can wait.
But given that Bush and Koizumi are still wiping at least 5 buckets of NORK night soil from their faces, I got to believe their responses will be worth the wait.

    Yet another FAILURE…

Today’s launch of TD-2 FAILED within a minute after lauch during 1st stage.

Launch 7 years ago of TD-1 also FAILED too. There was an apparent failure on the third stage of the TD-1 and warheard or this time sorry satellite didn’t reach orbit.

SO THERE YA GO = TWO CONSECUTIVE FAILURES!
