DPRK missile launches likely from Musudan-ri
by Richardson ~ March 10th, 2006. Filed under: DPRK Military, WMD.Media reports have not identified the location, but there is only one major facility in Hamgyeong Bukdo that is within 100km of the Sea of Japan (East Sea) and near the Chinese border; Musudan-ri Missile Test Site. Musudan-ri is the site where Nodong and Taepodong missiles have been launched.

North Korea’s missile bases
Reports say the missile landed in the Sea of Japan (East Sea) about 100km (62 miles) northeast of the launch site. The missile was likely a KN-02, which is a North Korean improvement on the Soviet SS-21 Scarab, a single-stage solid-propellant missile. This is the same type test fired successfully in May 2005, also into the Sea of Japan, and unsuccessfully in April 2004. The range of less than 1000km categorizes it as a SRBM.

DPRK missile launches likely from Musudan-ri

And as each time there is any activity at their missile testing facilities, the Musudan-ri Missile Test Site, it stirs the media to a froth, North Korea could just be rattling the cage. And as the missiles is not likely to have been fueled yet, it could also be training. Or both. […]
