HURRICANE KATRINA CONDOLENCES FROM THE KOREAS
by Richardson ~ September 4th, 2005. Filed under: Korean Culture, North Korea.South Korea has offered $30 million in aid, as well as the assistance of a, “50-strong search-and-rescue team and a package of relief supplies,” as soon as possible. The U.S. Embassy in Seoul sent the appropriate thanks.
North Korea also offered condolences, but no aid (and really, what do they have, that would help, that they could transport?). Additional background information from the Marmot.
There have also been a few, shall we say, “odd” headlines in South Korean newspapers about the U.S. disaster, as noted by the Lost Nomad (and here).
